'Monmouth' is a high yielding tree that produces medium size, round kernels that blanch very well, making it suitable for a variety of confectionary and baked good applications as well as for
direct eating especially when roasted. Most kernels are 12 – 14 mm in diameter with an average weight of 1.19 grams and kernel percentage
of 52%.
Pairs well in a production orchard with 'Raritan', 'Somerset', 'The Beast', 'Grand Traverse'
Features:
- Highly resistant to eastern filbert blight (EFB)
- Moderately vigorous, rounded growth habit
- Separates from husk easily
- Harvest early to mid September
- S-alleles 1 and 12
